Privacy

This site has a room in its basement about consent theatre, so it would be difficult to publish a privacy page that needed a banner in front of it. What follows is a description of how the site is actually built, which is a stronger claim than a policy.

What is not here

• No cookies. The site sets none — not for analytics, not for preferences, not for anything. Nothing here needs your consent because nothing here is stored on your device.
• No accounts. There is nothing to sign in to.
• No forms. No contact form, no newsletter box, no comments. Nothing on any page transmits anything you type.
• No third-party embeds. No fonts from a CDN, no maps, no video players, no social widgets, no tag manager. Every font and every figure is served from this domain, which means no other company learns that you visited.
• No advertising, and nothing sold or shared. There is no data here to sell.

What is here

Cookieless analytics. The site runs Umami, self-hosted on the same estate's own server rather than on a vendor's. It records page views, referrer, browser, device type and country. It sets no cookie, assigns no persistent identifier, and cannot follow you to another site. The script loads only on the live hostnames, so local builds and previews do not report.

Server logs. The host keeps ordinary web-server logs — the request, the time, the user agent, the IP address — for operational reasons. That is what serving a page over HTTP involves.

Doing without

Block the analytics script and the site is unaffected: nothing on any page depends on it. Everything except the search index and three small enhancements — the citation builder, the contents rail's scroll highlighting, and the larger-text toggle — works with JavaScript turned off entirely.

Changes and contact

If this page stops being an accurate description of the build, the page is the thing that is wrong, and it gets corrected. Questions go to the director.
