what the frames are made ofPackages
Every frame is the system’s own published package, built unmodified at the version shown. Nothing is redrawn. Each system’s name, components and design belong to the organisation that makes it.
| System | Package and version | Maker | Licence |
|---|---|---|---|
| GOV.UK | govuk-frontend6.5.1 | Government Digital Service | MIT Code is MIT. The Crown logo and royal coat of arms are Crown copyright and are not licensed for reuse; the Transport typeface is licensed to GOV.UK only, so the frames fall back to Arial, as the system itself specifies. |
| USWDS | @uswds/uswds3.14.0 | U.S. General Services Administration | Public domain (CC0) for the government’s own code; Apache-2.0 and SIL OFL for what it bundles Bundles Source Sans Pro, Merriweather and Public Sans (SIL OFL 1.1), Roboto Mono and Google Material Icons (Apache-2.0). |
| Carbon | @carbon/react1.117.0 | IBM | Apache-2.0 IBM Plex is SIL OFL 1.1. |
| Primer | @primer/react38.40.1 | GitHub | MIT Logos and marks are not covered by the licence. |
| Ant Design | antd6.6.5 | Ant Group | MIT |
| Material Web | @material/web2.5.0 | Apache-2.0 Roboto is Apache-2.0 and SIL OFL 1.1 via Fontsource. The package is in maintenance mode. | |
| Spectrum | @spectrum-web-components/button1.12.4 | Adobe | Apache-2.0 Spectrum Web Components, not React Spectrum. Adobe Clean is proprietary and is not bundled. |
Withheld: Polaris. Shopify’s licence grants its rights only to apps that integrate with Shopify, or that are visually distinct from Shopify’s products. A public gallery is not clearly either, so Polaris was researched and checked but is not drawn here until that is settled with Shopify.
The page you are on, the dataset and the pipeline are separate from these packages. Frames are loaded in an
iframe from this site’s own address; no frame requests anything from another host, and the build fails if one does.
Marks and photographs
A licence over code does not cover a system’s logo. The frames show no photographs. The GOV.UK header and footer frames do show the GOV.UK logotype and the Crown, because that is what those components are; they are Crown copyright and are shown here only as part of the component being described, with no claim of endorsement. This site is not affiliated with any of the eight systems.
Using this gallery
The frames are build output of the packages above and carry their licences with them; the notices travel with the packages. To reuse a component, take it from the system’s own package, linked in each component page’s facts, not from this site.
